1QuitFree runs entirely in your browser
QuitFree is a pure front-end application. There is no backend, no user account, no cloud database, and no server-side analytics. All logic runs locally in your web browser on your device.
Because there is no server involved, your data is never uploaded to us — it physically never leaves your phone or computer.
2Data we do NOT collect
We do not collect, receive, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:
- No personal information — no name, email, phone number, or location.
- No analytics or tracking — no third-party trackers, no ad networks, no cookies.
- No usage telemetry — we cannot see how you use the app.
In short, we are simply not in a position to see your data at all.
3Where your data lives: your browser's localStorage
All the information you enter into QuitFree is stored only on your own device, in your browser's built-in localStorage. This includes:
- Your quit date and quitting method.
- Price per pack, cigarettes per pack, and daily usage figures.
- Your personal reasons for quitting.
- Craving logs, triggers, and resistance history.
- Achievements, milestones, and app settings.
localStorage is a standard web feature that keeps data inside your browser. It is not synchronized to any server and is not accessible to us or to any other website.
4Payments are handled by Creem
If you choose to upgrade to the Pro plan, payment is processed entirely by Creem (creem.io), a third-party payment processor. When you pay:
- Your payment details (such as card information) go directly to Creem — QuitFree never sees or stores them.
- Creem's own Privacy Policy and Terms govern your payment information.
QuitFree only stores a local flag on your device indicating that you have unlocked Pro.
5Your data is yours to delete
Because everything is stored locally, you are always in full control. To erase all QuitFree data from your device, simply clear your browser's site data for QuitFree (or use the app's reset option if available). There is no copy anywhere else to worry about.
6Children & changes
QuitFree is intended for adults who want to quit smoking. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone — since we collect no data at all.
If we ever change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
